SCA students add to success of the 2009 NEPMC conference
The School of Communication Arts (SCA) added to the success of The 2009 National Ethnic Press and Media Council (NEPMC) Training Development Seminar held at Markham Campus on the weekend of November 20th.

Not only did Corporate Media Production students operate the main stage (under the capable direction of alumnus Dan Wilson), but teams of Journalism Broadcast and Broadcasting-Television students covered the proceedings.

Although Prime Minister Stephen Harper declined an interview, the students were able to meet and interview Justin Trudeau, Bob Rae, provincial opposition leader Tim Hudak and an array of parliamentarians and cabinet ministers from the federal and provincial governments.

The SCA team certainly raised the awareness of the quality of our communications programs with the ethnic media, and led to a number of inquiries about field placement and possible employment.
